SYSTEM code execution via quarantine restore symlink

Local privilege escalation in ESET products for Windows before scanner module 1610 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. During a quarantine restore, the ESET service follows an attacker-created symbolic link and performs privileged file creation or overwrite at the linked path. Exploitation requires a logged-on local user to plant malicious files and an administrator to initiate the restore operation.
