Credential disclosure via retained cross-origin Authorization header
Published May 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Information disclosure in Scrapy before 2.11.2 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read Authorization headers during redirects. The _build_redirect_request function compared only network locations, so a same-host HTTPS-to-HTTP redirect retained the Authorization header. Exploitation requires an authenticated crawl to follow an attacker-influenced downgrade redirect while plaintext traffic is observable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
