CVE-2024-1961Network attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file write via artifact path traversal

Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Path traversal in Verta ModelDB allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary server files through crafted artifact uploads. NFSController.java and NFSService.java use the attacker-controlled artifact_path without constraining the resolved upload destination to the artifact store. A low-privileged account can overwrite application configuration or other writable files, enabling code execution when ModelDB runs outside Docker.
