CVE-2024-1949Network attack vector

Authenticated post disclosure via creation-deletion race

Published Feb 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

A race condition in Mattermost 8.1.0 through 8.1.8 and 9.4.0 through 9.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to read individual posts. Mattermost has not published the affected function or missing synchronization primitive; the disclosed race occurs between post creation and another user's post deletion. Exploitation requires precise timing and another user deleting a post, and it exposes only that post's contents.
