Unaudited post retrieval via omitted compliance check
Published Feb 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 7, 2024
Access control failure in Mattermost 8.1.8 and earlier, 9.2.0 through 9.2.4, and 9.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to read public-channel posts. The post-fetching path omits the compliance-export state check before bypassing channel-membership enforcement for public channels. Any logged-in user can retrieve posts without joining the channel, and the access is omitted from compliance export records.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
