Authenticated command execution via first-token validation
Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
OS command injection in Significant Gravitas AutoGPT before 5.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary shell commands. The CodeExecutorComponent's shell validator compares only the first whitespace-delimited token with its allowlist or denylist, allowing appended commands to evade policy checks. Reachability requires local command execution to be enabled; successful input runs with AutoGPT process privileges and can read, alter, or interrupt host resources.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
