Authenticated PHP code execution via unrestricted upload
Published Feb 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Complaint Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The users/register-complaint.php handler accepts complaint attachments without properly validating their file extensions, permitting a malicious PHP script to be uploaded. A low-privilege account and network access to the Lodge Complaint section are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied PHP on the server.
