CVE-2024-1869Network attack vector

Unauthenticated memory disclosure via GGW out-of-bounds read

Published Mar 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024

An out-of-bounds read in HP DesignJet printer firmware allows remote attackers to disclose memory through the GGW service on port 9220. The general-purpose gateway processes network input by reading beyond an allocated memory boundary and returning memory contents. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented impact is limited to disclosure rather than modification or interruption.
