CVE-2024-1853Known exploitationPublic exploit

Process termination via attacker-selected IOCTL target PID

Published Mar 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Arbitrary process termination in Zemana AntiLogger 2.74.204.664 allows local users to stop noncritical processes through its Windows drivers. The zam64.sys and zamguard64.sys handlers authorize the caller's PID, then accept a target PID through IOCTL 0x80002048 and pass its handle to ZwTerminateProcess. Low-privilege local code must first register through IOCTL 0x80002010; exploitation can stop security or other noncritical processes.
