Database disclosure via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
SQL injection in WP ULike 4.6.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to extract sensitive database data via shortcodes. The wp_ulike and wp_ulike_counter handlers incorporate attacker-controlled id and status attributes into SQL queries without sufficient escaping or parameter preparation. Contributor-level access is required to submit the crafted shortcode attributes, and successful exploitation exposes data accessible to the WordPress database account.
