CVE-2024-1781Public exploit

Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized timezone parameter

Published Feb 23, 2024 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Command injection in TOTOLINK X6000R firmware 9.4.0cu.852_20230719 allows remote attackers to execute commands via a crafted tz value. The setWizardCfg handler passes attacker-controlled tz input through Uci_Set_Str, which uses snprintf to splice it into a uci command before CsteSystem ultimately invokes execv. No authentication is required, and successful exploitation grants command execution on the router, enabling data access, modification, or service interruption.
