Conditional code execution via post-meta deserialization
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
PHP object injection in the Play.ht WordPress plugin 3.6.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject objects via post metadata. The referenced AJAX handler deserializes the untrusted play_podcast_data post-meta value without establishing that its serialized contents are safe. Contributor-level access is required; code execution, file deletion, or data disclosure also requires a usable POP chain from another installed plugin or theme.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
