Author-level settings modification via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Incorrect authorization in RadiusTheme Testimonial Slider before 2.3.7 allows remote authenticated users to modify plugin settings. The tssSettingsUpdate() AJAX handler accepts the tssSettingsAction request and applies a supplied settings slug without checking the caller's capability. An Author account and a nonce exposed on a page containing an existing slider are required, and the demonstrated impact is unauthorized settings changes.
