Arbitrary file read via unchecked upload path
Published Apr 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Path traversal in Gradio before 4.19.2 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through an UploadButton request. Queue preprocessing accepted a caller-controlled FileData path and copied the referenced file into Gradio's cache without verifying that it came from the upload folder. The application must expose a public link, and the grounded consequence is disclosure of files whose paths are known.
