Stored XSS via unescaped Display Name output
Published Mar 7, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WPEverest User Registration & Membership 3.1.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via Display Name. The account-page shortcode in includes/class-ur-shortcodes.php renders the stored WordPress display_name value without adequate output escaping. Exploitation requires an attacker-created account and social engineering that causes a user to log in as that account; script runs in the affected browser session.
