Database disclosure via unvalidated analytics column selector
Published Feb 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
SQL injection in NotificationX 2.8.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read WordPress database data through the Analytics REST API. The REST handler accepts an arbitrary type value as an analytics column selector, which Database.php incorporates into a raw SQL expression without an allowlist or sufficient preparation. No authentication is required; blind, time-based queries can recover sensitive values such as administrator password hashes.
