Stored script execution via unescaped meta descriptions
Published Mar 30, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in BoldGrid Easy SEO 1.6.13 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via meta descriptions. The meta-description handler stores contributor-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and later emits them into page markup without adequate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the injected script runs in the browser of any user who visits the affected page, permitting actions within that user's session.
