CVE-2024-1657Network attack vector

Rulebook data exposure via unauthenticated WebSocket

Published Apr 25, 2024 · Updated Feb 25, 2026

Cleartext WebSocket use in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.4 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter rulebook data. The installer configures activation-to-EDA-server communication over an unauthenticated WebSocket, exposing complete rulebook payloads to hosts inside the configured network range. Access from any machine in the permitted CIDR block is sufficient; the documented impact is rulebook confidentiality and integrity, not service interruption.
