Arbitrary code execution via unrestricted startup DLL search
Published Feb 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024
Uncontrolled DLL search in Delta Electronics DOPSoft before 4.0.0.82 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through a malicious file. During DOPSoft startup, the process searches unrestricted locations for DLL images and loads an attacker-supplied library as trusted code. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and the injected code runs with the current process privileges.
