Stored script execution via unescaped image URL
Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Featured Image from URL (FIFU) 4.6.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through image URLs. The plugin stores fifu_input_url input and later emits it into generated page content without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the injected script executes when a user visits the affected page.
