CVE-2024-1487Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Author-level script execution via unsanitized descriptions

Published Mar 11, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025

Stored XSS in Contest Gallery before 21.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted entry descriptions. The plugin stores an author-supplied gallery-entry description without sufficient sanitization or output escaping and renders it in cg_gallery_no_voting. Author-level access is required to save the payload, and execution occurs in a viewer's browser when the affected gallery entry opens.
