Contributor-only post disclosure via unchecked status selection
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Incorrect authorization in WP Show Posts 1.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read unpublished WordPress content. The wpsp_display function passes a caller-controlled post-status setting into its post query without checking whether the caller can read that status. Contributor access is sufficient to expose draft, trashed, scheduled, private, and pending posts and pages without granting write access.
