Authentication bypass in Progress OpenEdge before 11.7.19, 12.2.14, or 12.8.1 allows remote attackers to gain unauthorized platform access. On Windows, auth.dll's authorizeUser routine accepts the supplied NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM account name without validating its password. AdminServer logins are always exposed; Authentication Gateway exposure requires an OpenEdge Domain using the OS local authentication provider.
