Prototype pollution in Carbone before 3.5.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute injected JavaScript through formatter names. The formatter registry in lib/input.js uses a normal object, so inherited Object.prototype properties are accepted as formatter names and interpolated into generated template code. Exploitation requires a parent Node.js application whose Object.prototype is already polluted and a crafted template reaching the renderer.
