Protected-connection compromise via improper certificate validation
Published May 22, 2025 · Updated May 22, 2025
Improper certificate validation in ABB ASPECT products through 3.* allows remote authenticated users to compromise protected connections. ABB has not disclosed the affected connection handler or which certificate, hostname, or trust decision is skipped during SSL verification. Administrator credentials and a misconfigured deployment are required; successful exploitation exposes communications to disclosure or alteration and can interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
