Sandbox escape via LAN-to-WWAN address assignment
Published Apr 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Improper input validation in Tesla Model S 2023.44.29 allows local users to escape the Iris modem sandbox from low-privileged code. QCMAP_ConnectionManager accepts a LAN address assignment for the WWAN, crossing the intended network boundary. Exploitation requires prior low-privileged code execution on a vehicle with the specified connectivity card, and the resulting access reaches internal-LAN services.
