Disk exhaustion via unbounded AJAX log messages
Published Apr 17, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Uncontrolled logging in Klarna Checkout for WooCommerce before 2.13.5 allows remote attackers to exhaust disk space through AJAX. The kco_wc_log_js endpoint accepts a checkout-page nonce and a POST message at the server request-size limit, then writes the message to WooCommerce logs without a length cap. A checkout page must expose log_to_file_nonce, after which repeated large requests can fill the filesystem and interrupt the store.
