CVE-2024-13910Network attack vector

Administrator-level file deletion via unchecked backup path

Published Mar 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Arbitrary file deletion in the Database Backup plugin 2.36 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files. The database_backup_ajax_delete function fails to confine an attacker-supplied path before deleting the referenced file. Administrator access is required, and deletion of a critical file such as wp-config.php can destroy site configuration and enable subsequent code execution.
