Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in MailerLite – Signup forms (official) 1.5.0 through 1.7.6 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts via shortcode attributes. InvalidForm.php in the shortcode rendering path places user-supplied attributes into page output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, which executes in a visitor’s browser whenever the injected page is opened.
