Stored XSS via unsanitized media-save input
Published May 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in BuddyBoss Platform 2.8.50 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through media saves. The bp_nouveau_ajax_media_save function stores media-related input without sufficient sanitization and later emits it without adequate output escaping. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the injected JavaScript executes when a user opens the affected page within the site's origin.
