Script execution via unescaped src parameter
Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Reflected XSS in SEO Tools 4.0.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to run script in a privileged user’s browser via a crafted URL. The rssread.php endpoint inserts the untrusted src query parameter into its HTML response without sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires no authentication but requires a high-privilege user to open the crafted URL, allowing script to run in that user’s browser context.
