Reflected XSS via unescaped index parameter
Published Mar 5, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in HeroPlugins Hero Mega Menu 1.16.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts through the index parameter. The plugin accepts the index parameter without sufficient input sanitization and emits it into page output without context-appropriate escaping. Exploitation requires a victim to follow a crafted link or perform an equivalent action, after which the script runs in that user's browser context.
