Subscriber-level option modification via unchecked AJAX action
Published Apr 5, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ZoomSounds 6.91 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify WordPress options through an AJAX action. The dzsap_delete_notice handler omits a capability check before updating an option value to seen, and several other functions have the same defect. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to trigger site errors that deny service or enable settings such as registration.
