Conditional code execution via AJAX object deserialization
Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
PHP object injection in ThemeREX Puzzles 4.2.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject objects through an AJAX request. The unauthenticated view_more_posts action deserializes attacker-controlled input, creating an arbitrary PHP object. Impact requires a POP chain from another installed plugin or theme; that chain determines whether files can be deleted, data read, or code executed.
