Admin SSH access via Nomad template injection
Published Feb 13, 2024 · Updated May 9, 2025
Command injection in GitHub Enterprise Server allows remote authenticated users to gain admin SSH access through audit log forwarding. The Management Console places insufficiently validated audit-forwarding input into Nomad templates, enabling command execution. Reachability requires instance access and a Management Console account with the editor role; successful injection escalates that account to appliance administrator access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
