Subscriber-level widget changes via unchecked AJAX handlers
Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Contact Form and Calls To Action by vcita 2.7.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to toggle widgets. The vcita_ajax_toggle_ae and vcita_ajax_toggle_contact AJAX handlers change plugin options without verifying the caller's capability. Subscriber-level WordPress access is sufficient to enable or disable the affected contact and calls-to-action widgets, altering site configuration without broader administrative rights.
