Missing authorization in MVPThemes Zox News 3.17.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify WordPress options. The backup_options() and reset_options() functions omit capability checks before updating or deleting attacker-selected WordPress option values. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to enable registration with the Administrator role or delete critical options and interrupt site operation.
