Administrator-session script execution via unescaped form parameter
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Reflected XSS in LifterLMS before 8.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser via a crafted link. The LifterLMS form-management page at wp-admin/edit.php writes the _llms_bbp_forum_ids query parameter into HTML without sanitizing or escaping it. Exploitation requires a high-privilege user to open the attacker-controlled URL, after which the script runs in that user's browser context and can act with the privileges available to that session.
