Admin SSH access via HTTP proxy command injection
Published Feb 13, 2024 · Updated May 9, 2025
Command injection in GitHub Enterprise Server before 3.12 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrative SSH access. The Management Console fails to neutralize command syntax in an HTTP proxy setting before processing the configuration. An attacker must access the instance and hold the Management Console editor role; exploitation grants administrative SSH control of the appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
