Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unchecked action value
Published Mar 29, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in Shortcodes by United Themes 5.1.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary WordPress shortcodes. An exposed action accepts an insufficiently validated value and passes it to WordPress's do_shortcode function, causing attacker-supplied shortcode markup to be interpreted and run. No authentication or user interaction is required; the resulting confidentiality and integrity effects depend on which shortcodes are registered on the affected site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
