Unauthenticated voucher modification via unchecked update handlers
Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Codemenschen Gift Cards 4.4.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter any voucher's value, expiry, and note. The update_voucher_price, update_voucher_date, and update_voucher_note handlers process unauthenticated requests without capability checks or nonce verification. No account is required; a reachable WordPress site with an existing voucher permits unauthorized changes to monetary value, expiration, and user-visible notes.
