Stored script execution via unescaped question titles
Published Jan 26, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in AYS Pro Survey Maker 5.1.3.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through survey question titles. The survey editor accepts the ays_sections question-title parameter without sufficient sanitization, and survey output renders the saved title without adequate escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; opening an injected page executes the script in the visitor's browser.
