Database credential extraction from installed executables
Published Feb 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in PRGTEC Corporation LaborOfficeFree 19.10 allow local users to extract database credentials from installed executables. The LOF_service.exe and LaborOfficeFree.exe files store a recoverable database username and password instead of keeping the credential outside client code. Local access to the installation files is sufficient; the recovered account permits remote database login with root-like privileges.
