Stored XSS via external JavaScript shortcode attribute
Published Feb 29, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Advanced iFrame 2024.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the advanced_iframe shortcode. The shortcode's additional_js attribute accepts an attacker-controlled external JavaScript file and adds it to the parent page without blocking contributor-supplied values. Contributor-level access is required, and the stored script executes in a visitor's browser whenever the injected page is viewed.
