Contributor-level code execution via shortcode file inclusion
Published Jan 24, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Local file inclusion in Directorist Post Grid, Slider & Carousel Ultimate 1.6.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The pgcu shortcode passes its attacker-controlled theme attribute to a PHP include operation without restricting the path to bundled themes. Contributor-level access is required, and arbitrary code execution depends on an uploadable PHP file or another executable PHP file already present on the server.
