Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Feb 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in the Threepress shortcode in Threepress 1.7.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary scripts. The shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and renders them without sufficient output escaping, preserving attacker-controlled script markup in a page. Contributor-level access is required to create the content; the script executes in a visitor's browser whenever the injected page is opened.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
