Author-level stored XSS via unvalidated element tag

Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025

Stored XSS in Metaphor Creations Ditty before 3.1.52 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through Display settings. The Display font Element setting accepts a client-supplied HTML tag without validation and renders a stored title inside it, allowing a script tag to become executable. Author access is required, and execution occurs when a privileged user views the modified Display, enabling session theft or actions in that user's context.
