CVE-2024-13315Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via nonce-free option update

Published Feb 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Cross-site request forgery in Brightwood Shopwarden 1.0.11 and earlier allows remote attackers to update arbitrary WordPress options. The save_setting() function accepts a settings form submission without verifying a WordPress nonce, allowing attacker-chosen option names and values to reach the option update operation. Exploitation requires a site administrator to submit the forged request, after which the option changes grant elevated privileges and can expose the WordPress site to administrative control.
