Private-file disclosure via public filesystem storage

Missing authorization in Drupal Open Social 11.8.0 through 12.3.9 and 12.4.0 through 12.4.8 allows remote attackers to read uploaded files. The social_file_private module fails after an upgrade from a pre-11.8.0 installation and stores new uploads in the public filesystem rather than the intended private filesystem. Exposure requires the default-but-optional module and the affected upgrade path; unauthorized reading is the only reported security impact.
