Restricted group-content disclosure via unvalidated visibility updates
Published Jan 9, 2025 · Updated Jan 10, 2025
Improper authorization in Drupal Open Social before 12.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to expose restricted group content. The optional social_group_flexible_group module insufficiently validates group updates, allowing content visibility to broaden beyond its intended audience. The module must be enabled; successful exploitation changes visibility and discloses group content without reported service interruption.
